INTRODUCTION-TO THE WORKS

Introduction-To the works

The painter Adnan Abd Alrahman creates pictures of great imaginative density. His early paintings often show eventful landscapes open to exploration. When looking at them, we feel that they are based on personal experiences. The painter has in fact walked this ground, has really seen this light.

His impressions gathered at thousands of encounters with and in his world, he could condense into pictures that at the same time capture the quality of rare, intense, happy or important moments.

Places and persons can only be guessed.
For his works of art, the artist transforms the concrete pictures of the visible world into abstractions and so offers the viewers new possibilities. They can absorb the mood of these works and associate it with own experiences, activate their personal emotions, memories and thoughts when contemplating the paintings. These early works of art radiate warmth.
Since the war in Syria and his fleeing to Germany new worlds of images have been coming along.

There is a darker work section of paintings showing a highly structured surface with lines added.

At times, these black lines seem to barricade the room, while sometimes they send directional impulses or stand for whirling energies.Other paintings follow the change of the seasons and so revive the themes and formal language of earlier works. They show the drying of nature at the end of a growth cycle and then flourishing again.

It is a great pleasure to see the paintings of Adnan Abd Alrahman in the Art Museum Marburg.
